Jovo Lalic was born in Sarajevo, 1961. He studied at The Academy of Fine Arts Sarajevo, Department of Painting. From 1981 to 1992, he was an illustrator and permanent associate at “Vecernje Novine” newspaper in Sarajevo. He is the founder of the painting workshop “Paleta”, therefore he is engaged in both painting and teaching.
He has exhibited in 30 group exhibitions and 14 solo exhibitions so far. He has participated in numerous art colonies. His work can be found in many private collections around the world. In 2011, the municipality of Zvornik awarded him gold plaque “Stanko Nikolic” for his contribution to culture. He won Best Portrait Award at “Thousand of Portraits” exhibition, organized by The Ministry of Education and Culture of The Republic of Srpska, 2010. In 2003, SrboArt from Belgrade published the lexicon “ Famous People of The Republic of Srpska”, mentioning Jovo Lalic as one of the numerous notable people in the country.
